This book introduces the game of Black Powder with all the rules that the authors and their friends use in their own games. The reader is given the opportunity (and is encouraged) to recreate the great battles of the 18th and 19th centuries using armies of model soldiers. In addition to the basic rules of warfare such as issuing orders, moving troops, the effects of musket and cannon, and the influence of morale, this book contains numerous examples of special rules that allow players to customize their games to their own preferences. In addition, twelve complete scenarios for Black Powder games offer a large selection of the conflicts of this period. Battle of Elixheim – War of the Spanish Succession, 1705 Battle of Clifton Moor – Jacobite Rebellion, 1745 Raid on Fort Ligonier – Seven Years' War, 1758 Battle of Chinsura – Seven Years' War, 1759 Battle of Bunker Hill – American War of Independence, 1775 Battle of North Point – Anglo-American War, 1814 Quatre Bras – Napoleonic Wars, 1815 The Evening Before Waterloo – Napoleonic Wars, 1815 Battle of Kernstown – American Civil War, 1862 Battle of Antietam – American Civil War, 1862 Battle of Dead Man's Creek - Indian Wars, 1876-77 Battle of iNyezane - Zululand, 1879
